About the course
Although the theory of economic mechanisms is a comparatively recent development, the mechanism itself have been known to humankinf for a millennium. It helped arrange deals, hold auctions, and, more recently, exchange kidneys and place talents in universities. We can consider open distributed ledger as a special algorithmic type of economic mechanism, since human agents in it interact both with humans and with algorithms.
In the course, we will learn how the discipline of algorithmic mechanisms design can be used by distributed ledger designer and researcher. In addition to equilibrium models, we will build other kinds of models in R and NetLogo, and use them to study deviations from equilibrium.
